Micron to invest $15 Billion in new Idaho fab, bringing leading-edge memory manufacturing to the US - September 12, 2022

On September 12, 2022 Micron broke ground on our leading-edge memory manufacturing fab at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho. The new fab will be the first new memory manufacturing fab in the U.S. in 20 years. We marked the occasion with a ceremony attended by U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Acting Director Dr. Alondra Nelson, Senator Jim Risch, Idaho Governor Brad Little and Boise Mayor Lauren McLean.
